To say text mining vendors are incapable of understanding applications is, in my opinion, rather glib.  They have plenty of problems, but understanding application niches is something they&#039;re pretty decent at.

But if you&#039;d like to tell me what you think you do better, I&#039;m all ears.

		<description>Hi Curt.  Jenny, here, from Scout Labs.  I know some text mining vendors have thrown up portals.  Of course, they are text mining people -- not marketers -- so what they build is always to demonstrate technology, which, in mind mind, is never going to be the winning approach.  I think companies need to stick to their DNA and do what they do best.  I&#039;d rather them continue to push the envelope in terms of their technology and let us put it to work for end-users.
